Copy of the last Memorandum submitted before
His Excellency The President of India
The undermentioned views are being expressed in writing
through Memorandum to His Excellency – The President
of India, The Hon’ble Prime Minister, The Deputy Prime
Minister, The Defence Minister, His Excellency the Governer
of West Bengal, The Chief Election Commissioner –
New Delhi
Respected Rashtrpatiji,
India is the largest democracy in the world. The world respects
India for her great democratic values and her deep respect
for constitutional rights. Governments, parties and leaders
come and go, what must stay intact and grow stronger is
the fibre of our democracy. It is up to us whether to strengthen
this fibre of democracy or let it get soiled and tattered
to the point where it starts breaking down and destroying
our cherished status. It is a slow process but it has begun.
I am one of the Members of Your Parliament and the Chairperson
of All India Trinamool Congress, who is fighting relentlessly
to bring justice and restore the democratic rights of the
whole population of the State of West Bengal which has been
trampled upon and slaughtered by the Left Front Government
lead by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in West Bengal.
Sir, being the head of the fountain from which the democratic
rights emanate, Your Excellency is well aware of the plight
and the wretched condition of the citizens of this State
of West Bengal. Since last Assembly Election, 2001, the
Panchayat Elections’2003, the Parliament Elections’2004
and the recently concluded Municipal Elections’ 2005,
the democracy and humanity have been completely destroyed
in the hands of the CPI(M) cadreraj. News papers and Electronic
Media have spared no pains and left no stones unturned to
focus the abject butchering of Democratic Rights and the
terrorism and violence that prevail here along with the
series of arsening, rape atrocities, assault by the CPI(M)
armed cardres. Anyone opposing the ruling Left Front i.e.
CPI(M) in administration, election or any other sphere is
brutally killed, maimed, terrorised or boycotted and destroyed
economically. (Clippings of News items and memorandum in
Annexure will substantiate the charge).
The West Bengal Assembly Elections’2001, the Panchayat
Elections’2003, the Parliament Elections’2004
and the recently held Municipal Elections have been an eye
opener. The CPI(M) lead Left Front keeps “winning”
elections time after time using patently undemocratic methods
termed as “rigging” ever witnessed by the voters
of the State. A study of the enclosed statistical data of
a few booths of some constituencies shows that there is
an unexplainable bias is these segments in voting pattern.
